The Vallée de Mai is a tropical forest, partly primary, mainly made up of palm trees native to the archipelago, some of which have been around since prehistoric times. Dive into the heart of this one-of-a-kind universe. Among these palm trees, you'll find the famous Coco de Mer, the plant with the biggest seed in the plant world. This forest is really special because it's still pretty much like the forests that covered the planet in prehistoric times. It shows us how vegetation has evolved over time. Lots of people think the site is just like the legendary Garden of Eden, the original paradise. This one-of-a-kind spot has earned it global recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site is home to several species of palm trees and lots of animals, some of which are unique to the Seychelles, like the endangered black parrot, and various birds and reptiles, including different types of geckos.
