Description
The day begins at 08:45 with a hotel pick-up to the embarkation points at Berjaya Resort beach side (Anse Volbert) or Kannus Supermarkets (Baie-Ste-Anne). At 09:15, the boat departs toward Curieuse Island, known for its Aldabra giant tortoises.
Arrive at Curieuse Island at 09:30 to explore lush mangrove forests and pristine beaches. Visit the tortoise sanctuary to observe these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
At 11:00, hike through the mangrove swamp using a well-marked trail to see diverse flora and fauna. Highlights include:
- Mangrove trees with intricate root systems, vital for coastal ecosystems
- Wildlife such as birds and crabs inhabiting the swamp
- A peaceful atmosphere created by natural sounds
