Description
Praslin offers tropical forest reserves and world-class beaches. Visit either Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve or Fond Ferdinand Nature Park, then relax at Anse Georgette and Anse Lazio.
The tour departs at 9:30 AM with pick-up from your hotel reception, airport, or harbor if arriving from Mahé or La Digue.
Morning Itinerary
- Guided visit to Vallée de Mai or Fond Ferdinand Nature Park. Vallée de Mai features endemic palm trees and the Coco de Mer, the world’s largest seed, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Fond Ferdinand is an alternative reserve with native species; a moderate fitness level is recommended for this park.
- Visit a coconut oil manufacturing plant to learn about cold-pressed coconut oil production and the use of coconuts for candies, jams, body scrubs, and soaps.
Afternoon Itinerary
- Anse Georgette: a 20-25 minute walk from the drop-off point. Relax, swim, snorkel, or enjoy fresh fruit juice and fruit platters on the white sandy beach with turquoise waters.
- Anse Lazio: reachable on foot in 15-20 minutes (easy walk). Swim, sunbathe, or snorkel while admiring granite boulders and crystal-clear water.
Return is around 4:30 PM with drop-off at your hotel, airport, or harbor. Return timing can adjust for connections by plane or boat.
