Description
Fond Ferdinand Nature Park is Praslin's second nature reserve and offers an alternative to Vallée de Mai for discovering the endemic Coco de Mer palm tree, known for producing the largest seed in the world. The park features a variety of other endemic and exotic plants including orchids, medicinal plants, and fruit trees that support the unique biodiversity of the area.
The reserve is home to rare wildlife such as the Seychelles black parrot, giant tortoises, lizards, bats, and endemic insects. Several hiking trails with varying difficulty levels allow visitors to experience the park’s diverse ecosystems and panoramic views. Guided by local experts, visitors will learn about the species and conservation efforts to protect this environment.
The guided tour begins at the park entrance and lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
