Local Picks - Things To Do in Seychelles

Every activity and place featured here comes straight from the locals who live in Seychelles. Our Seychelles Local Expert team constantly updates these selections based on real experiences and personal favorites, not algorithms or paid promotions.

You'll find recommendations that reflect daily life in neighborhoods like Victoria or Anse Royale, and seasonal tips that can make your trip more enjoyable, like the best quiet beach in October or a market worth catching on a Saturday morning. If you want to dive in deeper, ask around locals about places such as the Botanical Gardens or little eateries serving Creole food – those subtle discoveries often aren’t in tourist brochures but really shape your time here.

A local’s tip

If you’re around the Victoria area in the early morning, try stopping by the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market. It’s a lively spot where locals shop for fresh fish, tropical fruits, and spices. Instead of just browsing, ask vendors about the best local recipe or how to spot the freshest catch of the day. It’s a great way to connect with the island’s culture and get a feel for everyday life in Seychelles.
